Shipley's Tavern, a downtown Madison landmark, was founded in ​1867 in Madison, Indiana.

Today, Shipley's is owned by Molly and John Jones. The Jones acquired this historic tavern on January 7, 2020. There are 13 employees that work at Shipley's and the Jones believe that what makes Shipley's an icon in Madison is their people, like the General Manager Jackie May, who has been working at Shipley's for 14 years.
